1. Because sin separates humanity from God.
Romans 3:23 declares, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Sin is not merely bad behavior; it is separation from holiness.
A holy God cannot overlook sin without compromising justice.
2. Because no human effort can erase guilt.
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is by grace through faith — not by works.
No amount of moral improvement can undo past transgression.
As one wise saying declares: “You cannot outwork what only the cross can cancel.”
3. Because only a sinless Savior could bear the penalty of sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us.”
The substitute had to be spotless.
The sacrifice had to be perfect.
Jesus alone met that qualification.
4. Because the resurrection proves His authority.
Romans 1:4 teaches that Christ was declared to be the Son of God with power by the resurrection.
Many teachers have lived.
Many leaders have died.
Only one rose and conquered the grave.
The ark in Genesis lifted those inside above judgment waters.
Christ lifts believers above condemnation.
Romans 8:1 assures us, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Notice the phrase “in Christ.”
Just as safety depended on being inside the ark, salvation depends on being in Christ
